Report: Russia signs deal to sell several SSJ100 jets to Iran
MOSCOW, Jul 26 (PRIME) -- Russia has recently signed a contract to supply several Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) planes to Iran, local FARS news agency reported late on Tuesday.
The contract was signed at a meeting of representatives of senior Russian and Iranian defense officials at the MAKS air show in the Moscow Region’s city of Zhukovsky.
Russia signed contracts worth a total of U.S. $6.7 billion at the air show, the agency said.
Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, co-chairman of the Russian–Iranian intergovernmental commission, said in April that the countries have an agreement on supplies of 12 SSJ100 planes and could sign a contract on supplies of another 30 jets in the future.
